Here’s a little bit of a time-lapse from an oil painting that I’m doing for the Norwescon Convention and Art Show here in Seattle in March. The Artist Guest of Honor is Charles Vess, whom I’m looking forward to meeting. When I have the time, underpaintings or grisailles are so relaxing - much easier to concentrate on value without the color - then the glazing is easy too. I laid this out digitally, then transferred some outlines to a primed board, and now I am just using raw umber and titanium to make him come to life.
Nice painting!
