Art Show at the Eagle Festival tomorrow
I'll have some of my oil paintings at the Eagle Festival in Arlington this weekend!
A lot has happened since the start of the year for me. First of all, if you live in the Seattle area, come visit the Arlington Eagle Festival tomorrow. I’ll be bringing this beautiful bird and an intense owl to the art show that will take place in the Olympic Theater.
My graphic novels are still under submission and I’m continuing to work through the layouts, but I also juried into Graphite Art Center in downtown Edmonds over the holidays and have been re-discovering my love of traditional media. Here’s what the space looks like from the outside:
I’m really enjoying getting to know other artists. The center is also open to the public every Friday and Saturday afternoon and also has lots of other community activities. It’s fun having people come in and watch me work.
An hour away from me is a gathering place for eagles on the Stillaguamish River. Eagles come to feed on salmon as far away as Alaska and then roost in the trees. We have some bald eagles living near our house, but the Stillaguamish has large groups of eagles which can be spectacular to see. I’m volunteering with my local Pilchuck Audubon group for the event, too. The show is from 10am-4pm in downtown Arlington.
I’ll post more about my traditional art adventures in a future post.
